Double header action on Saturday

Writer: Oaklands WolvesOaklands Wolves

It's another double header of basketball at Oaklands on Saturday as both senior Wolves teams are at home , with the men hosting eighth placed Northampton Titans at 4pm before the women face a massive game against Caledonia Gladiators at 7pm.

The Scottish side went into the campaign as favourites for the title but after losing a pre-season game against Wolves they have split their first eight league games to sit sixth in the table. They have saved their best results for the SLB Trophy, and will meet Wolves in the final on January 26 following wins against Newcastle, Durham and Sheffield.

Liam Jefferson's Division Three team come into the game on the back of a shock victory at Derby Trailbalzers II and having strengthened their squad in recent weeks will be looking reverse the 88-68 they suffered when the teams met earlier in the campaign. Wolves are sixth in the table with a 5-5 record, one spot ahead of the 5-6 Titans.

There's a key game for Wolves Women's Division Two side as they travel to London Elite on Saturday afternoon.

Both Shanice Beckford-Norton's side and Elite are two of three sides tied on six wins, and although neither are likely to catch unbeaten leaders London All-Stars, they are both hoping to get in the top four to reach the end-of-season play-offs. Wolves beat the Londoners 63-55 when they met at Oaklands in early October, so will be looking to seal the head-to-head decider.

Finally, Wolves NBL Conference - or Division Four as the cool kids call it - side travel to Woking Blackhawks looking to avenge October's 95-67 home loss against the Surrey side.
